Two types of locks were used during production.
National pin tumbler lock
part #C8735 was used in the following stainless mailox models. Belaire
models: B20, B20B, B16, B16B, BR16, BR16B, and Senator models: S16,
S16B, SXL, SXLB. If your mailbox is stainless steel, either
natural stainless finish or black powder coat finish over stainless,
this lock is required for your mailbox.
Tubular key cam lock
was used in models B14B Belaire, S18B and S24B Senator. The model
number is inside the mail inlet door. These models were built
after 7.1.07
The
illustration below shows the assembly sequence for the Jin Tay tubular
lock which was used on most B14B, S18B and S24B mailboxes. Some early
tubular locks were Camlock Systems brand, which had a round key ring
hole centered on the key bow. Note: the assembly sequence for both
lock brands is identical, but only the Jin Tay lock requires the
internal toothed spacer washer between the rotation limiter and the
locking cam. The Camlock Systems locks do not require use of this spacer
washer.
Save your locking cam for re-use when you remove your old lock
Caution: Hold the locking cam with a wrench while tightening the self-locking nut.
